Stainless Steel UNS S31600 Round Bars and Rods are composed primarily of iron, with 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum, ensuring superior corrosion resistance, especially in chloride environments. The addition of molybdenum enhances its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy also contains small amounts of manganese, silicon, and carbon. Mechanical properties include a tensile strength of 520-700 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of 40-50% in 50mm. This composition ensures excellent strength, formability, and resistance to stress, making 316 stainless steel ideal for demanding applications in harsh environments.
